Strange behavior with embedded Excel tables in Word

Hi, I have a strange behavior with embedded Excel tables in Word:

Whenever I am using a dual display right-click/Edit an embedded Excel table opens the worksheet in an external Excel window (same as right-click/Open).

If I disable the dual display (Fn-F8, choose "PC display only") then right-click/Edit behaves correctly i.e. edit the spreadhsheet "inplace" in the Word document).

Anything that can be done to get same behavior when using a dual display?
