Word for Mac Won't Print Images

I've been using Word for Mac to print photo notecards for several years. Now, rather suddenly, Word will no longer print the images. Text, captions, etc., will print fine. Older notecard files will print properly with the images. But now when I create a new card with a new image - or edit an old one by replacing the old image with a new one - the images don't print. Pictures in 'new' cards are formatted, positioned, wrapped, etc., identically to the 'old' ones, and still won't print.

Older (now closed) threads suggest solutions that involve the way Word Preferences are set. None of those solutions work with (today's) Word 16.51 (updated today).

What is going on?

Thank you for your reply, Jazlyn.

I must tell you and any readers that I have resolved the issue described here, and am embarrassed to describe what was happening. But I will just in case there are others who may fall into the same trap - one of my own making.

I print a lot of note cards based on wildlife and nature photographs that I take. Tired of creating them from scratch every time, I created a template with a placeholder for the photos. To remind myself of the required dimensions of a photo to be inserted, I entered those dimensions as hidden text. You can now see the source of my issue. Depending on how I inserted the image, i.e., where I had the cursor placed prior to the insertion, the inserted photo itself frequently became ‘hidden’ and there for wouldn’t print.

So, this wound was self-inflicted!

…And I found the solution with the rather indirect help of earlier (now hidden) posts about images failing to print. These earlier posts directed me to Word>Preferences>Printing with guidance on how to select (or un-select) various options. I walked my way through all these options, checking or unchecking just to see what would happen. And one of those options is, you guessed it, to print or not print hidden text. Voila!

This issue should be listed as resolved.

Thanks for responding and now ‘listening’.

    Hi BPBear,

Sorry for the inconvenience the problem caused for you.

Based on your description, Word for Mac can't print images on a card on your side.

You mentioned "Word 16.51 (updated today)", may I know that whether the detailed version is 16.51 (21071101)? If yes, I tested it on my side(download a card from this site, and insert images in it, then print), however, there was no problem.

Since you only tested printing a card, to check whether the problem is related to the Word app, could you please try to create a new document with an image and print to see if the problem persists?

And please provide the detailed version number for me.

    Best regards,

    Jazlyn
