Generate pdf from Word with pages in both portrait and landscape

Hi,

I notice there are quite a few discussions around this but I haven't been able to solve this. Basically, I have a long (50 pages) word document that has most pages in portrait orientation but 3 sections where the pages are rotated to landscape (using section breaks). But I cannot generate a pdf that has the same orientations, regardless if I "Save as" pdf or "Print to pdf". In both cases all pages get rotated to landscape, which obviously is not what I want.

I have Microsoft / Office 365 with the latest updates on MacOS 11.5. Help would be great!!

Thanks

Peter

I‘ll only be back on my Mac mid-August, so unfortunately cannot send a screenshot. But it‘s in the normal print dialog - there‘s a drop down where you can select things like Paper Quality. In that menu there‘s also a selection for Word‘s options. Hope that helps?

You can try creating separate PDFs of the section before, inside and after the section breaks as separate files. Then use Preview to stitch them together in one file. Word for Mac used to automatically create separate PDFs from the different orientations, but that wasn't a popular option.

Especially since you are using the latest preview release of Big Sur go to the printer mfr's web site to see whether a more current driver has been published for your specific printer model.

Is the mixed orientation retained when printing to paper?

Thanks again! This is what I tried, but if I select to only print a range of pages I get the spinning ball and need to force-quit Word. Also, if I select "Separate print dialog per section" in Word's print settings, it still starts with landscape and does not properly change. (The first 30 pages or so are portrait.)

Thanks! The printer preview image already has it landscape. The printer driver is the latest version, but I also deinstalled this as the print to pdf should work independently. Also, Save as pdf should not dependent on this ... so no progress here.
