PPT 365 MultiMonitor

I have not found how to make a presentation with PPT 365 using an external monitor on my laptop. I am running Windows 10 Pro, the pc is set up for the external monitor operating as an extended screen.

When developing a presentation on PPT 365 I cannot find any Presentation Mode or any other setting to be able to select screen sizing. When launching the presentation the laptop displays the presentation in full screen but it is not showing on the external monitor. Therefore, the presenter cannot see his notes, etc.

What am I missing? Can Powerpoint 365 make a presentation using 2 screens?

I do not have any difficulty with other non Microsoft office applications showing on 2 screens.

I am trying to get this to work for our students to present reports.

Thanks.

Mike

    Hi Mike.

Thank you for being part of the Microsoft community.

I understand you want to configure the powerpoint to present on two screens. Right?

First, make sure the device you are using for your presentation supports the use of multiple monitors. Check with your device manufacturer for up-to-date information on multi-monitor support.

Step 1. First configure PowerPoint to use Presenter view with dual monitors

→ On the Slideshow tab, in the Monitors group, select Use presenter view.

→ In the Display Settings dialog box, on the Monitor tab, select the icon of the monitor you want to use to view speaker notes, then select the This is my primary monitor check box.

→ Select the monitor icon for the second monitor - the one the audience will watch, then select the Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor checkbox.

Step 2. Deliver your presentation on two monitors

→ On the Slideshow tab, in the Configure group, click Configure Slideshow.

→ In the Configure Presentation dialog box, choose the desired options and click OK. If you choose Automatic , PowerPoint will display the speaker's notes on the laptop's monitor, if available. Otherwise, PowerPoint will display the speaker notes on the main screen identified in the screen settings ( Settings > Screen ).

→To start making your presentation, on the Slideshow tab, click From Start or click the Slideshow buttonClick a computer screen image in the status bar to see the slideshow at the bottom of the PowerPoint window .

You can see this more detailed information at the link below:

NOTE: if the windows display settings don't open, do the following:

→ Click Start > Settings > System > Video. At the top, under Customize your screen , is a diagram of the screens connected to your computer, with each screen numbered. If you are connected to a project, it will normally be represented in the diagram as screen 2. Select screen 1 in the diagram and scroll down. Make sure the checkbox labeled Make this my primary monitor is checked. Above this check box, in the Multiple monitors list, select Extend these monitors .

    Best Regards!

    Hillary
