Office 2019 standard ~ how do I get my source files??? The Office Customization tool isn't working right

This is week #2 of me screwing around with the https://config.office.com/deploymentsettings tool.

I'm starting to lose my temper as this should not be this hard to get product we've paid for.

We own 30 licenses for the Office 2019 Standard and the only thing I can get to install is the Office 2019 Enterprise suite that the generic .xml file is part of the Office Deployment tool.

I've downloaded this tool a half dozen times and I've run through the config tool god knows how many times and see no issue with the config.

The admin command line I'm running is: c:\odt\setup.exe /configuration Configuration-OEMStandard64.xml

I get no error, it just dumps me back to the information you get when running setup.exe /help

the .exe and the .xml are in the same folder on the same drive and I have full network permissions and internet access on a fresh 500gb image.

I need these files, I have gear to deploy and I am tired of this mess that I'm put into because we can't use O365 in this application.

Please see the .xml below and don't respond to me and tell me it works for you... that is not helpful.

If you have something to say that points to what I'm doing incorrectly that will gratefully be accepted and acted upon.

<Product ID="Standard2019Volume" PIDKEY="**I have the MAK code provided in our purchase here**">

  <Language ID="en-us" />

  <ExcludeApp ID="Groove" />

</Product>

</Add>

<Property Name="SCLCacheOverride" Value="0" />

<Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" />

<Property Name="FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN" Value="TRUE" />

<Property Name="DeviceBasedLicensing" Value="0" />

<Updates Enabled="TRUE" />

<RemoveMSI />

<AppSettings>

<Setup Name="Company" Value="OEM\_Office Standard 2019" />

</AppSettings>

<Display Level="Full" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />

</Configuration>

    Have you tried just downloading the files using /download ? I used a source path and the office standard files are downloading to a subfolder in it named office.

    That's a very good question, it does not look like the tool:

    https://config.office.com/deploymentsettings

    Is adding that line to the .xml file it's building. From what I've read regarding this, it should build a functional config that would install or download the source comprehensively and there is no mention of having to modify that .xml once it's done and downloaded from the office config generator.

    None of the configs I've built using that tool have it and I just looked at the generic .xml that is part of the compiled office download tool and it doesn't have it either, but it works like a charm and will drop Office 2019 Enterprise all day long (sadly, we're not licensed for that version).

    It definitely should have been easy. I've used it before but don't consider myself an expert on it.

    Do you have a source path in your xml?

    Diane,

    Thank you for the response, I posted in the only place I found to post.

    I will take this to the two forums you listed and I will complain again that it's not a good thing to sell product and then introduce unmitigated variables to the installation equation.

    This should have been just as easy as downloading the media installing and applying a product key, instead this big production where I look like a **** and sound like a troll ~ neither of which I like or appreciate.
