OneNote Not working on Android after updating (2021)

The phone I have is a Samsung Galaxy S8. OneNote had been running just fine until today, when I updated the app. Now when I open it, it just gets stuck on the opening screen where all I see is the OneNote logo and Microsoft logo below it. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall it, clear the cache and 'data' on it, restart the phone, but still nothing.

Please help.

    Hi,

I have exactly the same problem on my Galaxy S8. I cleared the data, uninstalled , re-installed multiple times. To no avail. Onenote works fine only once after the re-installation. After that, it stays locked on the splash screen.

I have downloaded the apk file for version 16.0.14026.20144 (may 2021) from onenote.fr.uptodown.com/android/old (replace fr with en for the english versions). I have uninstalled oneNote and replaced it with that older version. That fixed the problem. So, it's obviously a bug introduced with the most recent versions. Not tested enough.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Just hope that somebody from the development team gets to look at this sooner rather than later. It's really frustrating!
