Windows 11 autosave

I really dislike that Microsoft is trying to take away personal options (or make it more difficult to do) such as setting default browser or autosave to automatically autosaving to OneDrive/Sharepoint. Under Files, Options and Save I have unchecked save to OneDrive/sharepoint and instead checked the Save to Computer box. I then restarted, thinking that then I can toggle the Autosave button to on, but instead the same window came up about to autosave to OneDrive. Did I do something wrong or is the autosave button basically useless even if the Save to Computer option is checked?

Thanks

When you specify that the local Computer should be the default saving location for Office, this only applies to future documents that you create. For those documents, the AutoSave command is no longer active, because automatic saves are only supported for OneDrive (or SharePoint) documents.
