    Hi Sohom,

I'm Adie, and I'm happy to help you today.

Does your keyboard have an Fn key? If so, try pressing Fn + F7 instead.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Adie

Apparently you are using a Mac laptop or compact keyboard. Several generations ago Apple took control of the Function ["F"] keys for their own purpose. As others wrote the default setup requires using the fn key in unison with the indicated Function key in order to perform keyboard shortcuts other than the Apple assignments.

To reverse the behavior go to > System Preferences> Keyboard - Keyboard to select the option for standard function keys.

See the Mac Help article Use keyboard function keys on Mac or visit this Apple KB **** for more details on use of the laptop keyboard.

As Adie A. wrote, you may have to hold the Fn key as you press the function key (meaning Fn+F7 for your first example). This is controlled by the PC, often in the BIOS settings. These settings may or may not be customizable; it depends on the level of control provided by the PC maker.
