Excel Desktop for Windows Server 2019

Hello,

Is it possible to install a desktop version of Excel on Windows Server 2019 to be used by a small team (5) of app administrators remotely?

Case and Problem:

  • My team uses Excel with add-ins as extensions to multiple internal applications
  • The internal applications reside behind a network firewall
    • IT policy prevents internet access beyond the firewall
    • We have Excel on our business laptops, but the applications are only accessible via remote terminal server located behind the network firewall

Thanks kindly for your attention.

    Hi Neha,

    Thank you for your reply!

It appears that Office 2019 or 2021 Standalone will work for us (365 will not as it requires an internet connection). I see that there's volume licensing available, but it indicates multiple PCs/servers. Instead of multiple servers, we'd like to install one instance of Office 2021 on one server with the ability for 5 concurrent people to use it ad hoc. Could this be achieved by purchasing volume licensing and RDP CALs?

    Thanks!

    Mark
