Documentation keeps saying for Excel 365 click insert 'Header & Footer' for headers. However, is it me or 365 version of Excel doesn't have this option. At least mine doesn't. So does 365 have headers or not? Same with word 365 i don't see watermark option.

You need to contact the support desk at your school. Software can be made available is several different ways but nobody here knows which one your specific institution may offer.

Hi Rich - thanks for the quick response. However, I'm not seeing these options, Is there a different version of 365, maybe a web vs. desktop version? Hopefully you can see the graphic below on what I see when i click insert. It allows for tables, pictures, shapes, etc. I do not see headers like if I had a desktop version.

Hi Glen. I am an Excel user like you.

Yes, 365 does have the headers and footers. There are two ways to open them to use them. On the Insert tab of the ribbon you can select "Headers and Footers". Find the Text section or icon. Click on the dropdown arrow and you will see it as one of the choices. You can also go to the View tab on the ribbon and select Page Layout in the Workbook Views section. You will see "Add Header" at the top of the page. Click in any one of the three header sections to add the header there that you want and then click down in the spreadsheet area to get out of the header.

According to the screen shot you're using the Excel Online web app. The web apps are free conveniences which lack most of the significant features found in the desktop software... editing Headers & Footers being one of the unsupported elements. This is from the Excel Online Help:

    Insert a header or footer

Excel for the web preserves and prints headers and footers. You can open the Excel desktop app to insert, edit, or view them.

If the workbook has a Header/Footer created in a desktop version it can be viewed in the web app by going to the Page Layout tab & clicking the Page Setup tool.
