A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
See Word Fields and Relative Paths to External Files. Although that is about external files, the same methods should work for internal links.

Hi,
I have a document with about 90 hyperlinks referencing other parts within the same document. For whatever reason, when I first create the hyperlink, it shows up as relative, which is good. However, when I save and close Word and go back in to the document later on, most of the hyperlinks have changed to absolute. I don't want the full URL, to appear when people hover over the hyperlink, just the pointer to the bookmark in the document. How do I fix this? TIA!
