How to generate a custom prefix unique ID

Hello, I would like some guidance on how to generate a unique ID that has a custom prefix when a new row is created in a MS List. I think it would be a formula of some sort but I'm not sure how to go about this.

The convention I'm looking for would be something like:

D&I-000001

D&I-000002

D&I-000003

etc

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

Thank you for querying in this forum.

I went through the post carefully. I'm afraid there is no out of box feature in Microsoft List to generate a ID with a custom prefix when a new row is created. Very sorry for the inconvenience.

Per my search, you may try to use Power Automate. Here is a similar thread for your reference: Add custom prefix to unique ID

If you need further help, considering we have a dedicated channel Microsoft Power Automate Community where members and engineers in the community are proficient in the knowledge of this kind of questions, to make sure you get professional assistance, I sincerely recommend you post the question in that community, members and engineers will also focus on your specific situation and provide specific suggestions.

Your patience and understanding are highly appreciated. Hope you have a safe and happy new year!

    Best regards,

    Tina
