Can I load and use Office 2019 or office 2021 on a new Windows 11 PC

Hello.

I am a newbie to the forum and I have a question about my new home PC, remembering that I am not that technical.

Its an HP Windows 11 laptop that is set up to provide a free 30 day trial of office 365. I dont want or need 365 and so wanted to use office 2019 or office 2021 instead, but have read that there may be issues with loading such a package due to the new PC already having Word, Excel etc already installed awaiting 365 activation. So my question is simple in that I am trying to establish if I will encounter any issues with loading office 2019 or 2021 onto this PC?

Would appreciate ANY assistance with this issue please.

Thank you in advance for any help!!

If you have set up/Activated the 365 Trial an in the process provided your bank/card details then you need to cancel that trial and then uninstall 365

MS Now only sells 2021 (other than 365) and there are several different versions, NB Home & Student does not include MS Outlook the mail client

James, yes you should just use the normal uninstall for the trial version of Office 365>Apps>Find Office 365 in the list of Apps>Click on it and>uninstall.

There are two versions of Office 2021> Home and student and Home and business. Home and business has Outlook, Home and student does not have Outlook Compare Microsoft Office Editions - Microsoft Store

If you purchase your Office from the Microsoft store you can install it from the Office Account created by Microsoft at: https://account.microsoft.com/services  You need to sign in with the same Microsoft Account that you used to purchase your Office from the Microsoft Store. Note: you cannot change the email address for the Microsoft account used to setup Office, so make sure you use one that you will have for a long time.

Hi James, I am not exactly sure how internet providers get hold of multiple versions of Office, other than to say they are volume versions of Office and are provided to companies, schools, universities, and other institutions for their respective, employees (HUP), pupils and Students. They are not meant to be sold on the internet as stand alone version, sometimes called, one-time payment versions. So although they are genuine version they are sold in contravention of the Microsoft licence.

PS: It is pretty obvious that a stand alone version of Office professional sold my Microsoft costs more than £400/$400 and the volume versions of Office sold online with the same number of Apps at knock down prices there is something not quite right.

    Thank you Ron.

Bit confused as some of the internet options supply genuine licence keys etc with no trouble so how do they contravene licencing?

Can understand it if Microsoft haven't issued the key etc, but if they have then surely it is suitable?

I find this whole PC stuff remarkably confusing and complicated particularly for users who just want it for one off activity...

Thank you very much for your help thus far...

Hi James, yes. That is, unless you have purchased your Offices at a knockdown price on the internet. These types of Office are usually sold in contravention of Microsoft's licence. I only say this because you have two Offices, which are expensive to purchase legitimately.

If you have Product Key for your Office Home and Student 2019 you can install from here: http://www.office.com/setup
