Different users see different page numbering in same document

A coworker of mine made edits to a document and I have to review the changes. We are not using any Review tools because I am not making changes to the document, only reading it to check for errors. When I open the document on my PC, it shows that there are 14 more pages than when he opens it on his PC. Why would this happen?

Word makes use of the current printer driver to lay out the pages. Therefore you can never be sure that the same document will look exactly the same on two different computers.

That said, 14 pages is quite a big difference in the number of pages! What does the document contain? Mostly text? Text and graphics? Other content?
