"Save As" not working in Word for Mac, Office 365

When I have a document open and choose "Save As" nothing happens. No error message, just nothing. This happens every time I do an Office Update. I used to call in every time and have them walk me through the complicated steps to fix it, but now they don't take phone calls.

I rebooted in safe mode and I was able to use the "save as" function in safe mode. I tried to follow your other instructions but there were no "add-ins" and I couldn't find the folder you suggested: ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.word. I rebooted again, this time normally, and I was able to "save as" again. I think the problem is fixed now, just from rebooting in safe mode. Thank you for your help!

    Thanks for posting the thread on our forum.

    According to your description, it seems that the Save as button no response in your Word on Mac.

    For the situation you encountered, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it .

    1. If the issue happens on a specific file, please create a new file and check if you can save as.
    2. If the issue happens on all files, you can do as follows:
    1. Start your Mac with safe boot to isolate issues.
    2. Disable Word Add-ins might solve this issue. Go to My Add-ins> Select Add-Ins by right clicking> Click Remove.
    3. Remove folder like ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.word to remove corrupt caches of the app to check the result.

    If the issue still exist, could you tell more about the following question:

    1. Can you send the screenshot of your Mac OS version (Click on the Apple menu> About this Mac) and Word version (open Word and click Word >“About Word”) .
    2. Does the issue only affect “save as” but not “save”?
