Ribbons look different in excel

Hi,

I just noticed that the ribbons in my excel look different. It was fine when I used it in the morning and now it's very different.

Like the top row which has the quick ribbon looks like something has been added to it. The save option looks normal but the quick access items like save, undo, redo has moved a little to the top. If you notice the alignment tab, the wrap text and the merge & center options don't show the description. Only icons are seen. And also there is a blank space to the right of the ribbon, after editing option.

Please help me go back to the old ribbon because I use excel everyday and I am really uncomfortable with it now.

One of the options I saw was to check if my excel was in touch mode or mouse mode. I checked and it is mouse mode. Still it looks like this.

I will be really grateful for any help I can get.

I 2nd everything said here. This is a non-sensical, mis-applied change for the sake of appearing to be doing something that is in reality only doing something of negative value. The fact that it wasn't tested adequately, was applied indiscriminately and without user choice is just blissful developer ignorance. Reverse this backwards change. Geez, what a waste of time and energy.

Rest assured, I did provide that feedback to MS first.

Ran the full/online Office Repair proc as well. Result, no affect on restoring titlebar to normal height.

May you send a screenshot of your quick toolbar options?

    Hi Ian,

    Thank you for your reply.

I tried doing it and it did not work.

Only the top portion's colour is changing and no change is happening to the ribbon.
