Alternatives for Microsoft Whiteboard?

I'm a student who has been using Microsoft Whiteboard for notetaking the past two years, it had become an integral part of my workflow. I say 'had' because Microsoft updated the app to remove most of the features I make use of (ruler, save to SVG, insert PDF) and ergonomically worsen the rest (back button in top left, sliders for pen thickness, moved pen bar to top of screen, less pens on that bar, my stylus buttons no longer work, etc). In its new form, Whiteboard is incompatible with my workflow. For now I'm going through the tedium of reinstalling the program every restart so I can keep using its early 2022 iteration, but beyond this semester that's not going to be an option. Are there any windows or linux alternatives which have a ruler and the option to save to a lossless format like SVG? Ergonomics are a plus, I don't see how anything can be worse than the new whiteboard in that category though so not a must.

If any Microsoft insiders see this: Is this update permanent? How could Microsoft neuter their own software like this? Like, why?! Make me understand, please

I know this form may be the wrong place for anti-microsoft sentiment, but after this there's no shot I switch to OneNote. Microsoft has pulled the rug from under me once, I don't need that again in the future. The trust there is ruined for me

I certainly understand that stability is important for you in a product that you use regularly.

Open source software might very well be the best choice in this case.

Personally, I find that Microsoft OneNote can be used for making notes. However, as far as I can tell, it doesn't offer conversion to image formats. It does offer conversion to PDF files.

You can of course google for other programs, for example open source alternatives. DrawPile would be one such program, but I haven't tested it, so I don't know how useful it is.
