Hi all, I confirm I have exactly the same behavior. Templates appear in all apps desktop-side but only on PowerPoint web-side.

Another jumbled, confused implementation? Templates in the org assets library display in the desktop apps but not in online apps. In Word online, if I click "create" I see one powerpoint template. No Word templates. This needs to work consistently across online and desktop apps or it just confuses people. Clearly no one with even the slightest knowledge of user experience ever looked at this. It shouldn't have been released at all if it doesn't work the same across the board.

Hi webbrewers,
Sorry for the confusion it caused for you.
I tested it on my side, and you can check below images:
You can see this assets library didn't show in the Word start page;
And it showed in the PowerPoint start page. However, you can also see that only PowerPoint template will appear.
Based on the test result, we can know that not all templates in an org assets library will be available from the Office online apps. Given this situation, we suggest that you could submit your feedback for this article via below method:

Yep I saw all that, but it seems to be inaccurate and/or it's not clearly written. It's a simple question - are all templates in an org assets library available from the office online apps? I'm not sure why I can't get a straight answer to that. If not, then this functionality should be completely removed until they are to reduce user confusion. It's a terrible user experience if we have to say "please use our templates - oh, but you can't unless you use the desktop apps". I'm struggling to understand the thinking behind such a poor implementation - and what the possible reason could be for it.

Thank you for posting your query in our community.
