How to Make the Pivot Chart Title reflects the changed values of a selected cell and link it to another Pivot table to use the same selected filter value?

Greetings,

I have created two Pivot tables to display different values for same Asset No. What I would like to do

From the 1st Pivot Table, I select an Asset No, via the filter, then the asset number filters the 2nd Pivot table which generate a range of data using Time Slicer and display as a chart. Also, the Title of the chart needs to reflect the Asset No. The image below further illustrates the requirements.

Thank you for any suggestion that achieve that.

    Hi Thamer,

We appreciate that you posted back and confirmed the scenario with us.

We have also tested it on our side, we used the table to create two pivot tables, as shown below:

Then we selected the first pivot table > Analyze > click Insert Slicer > selected Dept RTU No, then we selected this slicer > Options tab > click Report Connections, as shown below:

Then we used slicer to filter, it will filter all data in two pivot tables, as shown below:

Then we can use it to create a pivot chart, as shown below:

However, for your another requirement of reflecting id of RTU-084 in chart title. We have also searched and tested it, as far as we know, we’re afraid that there is no out of box way to achieve your requirement, and we will also search and test more to check if we can find any workaround.

And we will also welcome the other community members share your suggestions here.

Thank you for your patience so far.

    Best Regards,

    Sukie

    Hi,

Assuming both Pivot Tables have been built from the same source dataset, follow these steps to get the answer to your first question

    1. Click anywhere on the first Pivot Table and create a slicer for RTU No.
    2. Right click on the edges of the slicer and select Report Connections
    3. Check the box of the second Pivot Table
    4. Click on OK

This process will ensure that a single slicer selection will filter both Pivot Tables.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Thanmer,

Thank you for querying in this forum.

From your description, it seems that you want to link two specific values in two different pivot tables, then if you filter this specific data in pivot table1 and it will filter it in the table2, then it will generate a chart related to value in table 2.

May I know if my understanding is right? If not, you can also point that and provide more details about it.

At the same time, if the scenario above is right, we may need some time to do more tests and search to check if we can achieve your requirement.

And we will also keep this thread open to let the other community members who has any suggestions share their suggestions here.

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Greetings,

The understanding is correct. So If I select RTU-084 from Pivot table1 filter, it should populate that in Pivot table 2 which will generate a chart. Moreover, the chart title should reflect the id for the asset which is RTU-084.
