Date format dd.MM.yyyy with English Language

Hi,

I would like to have a date format dd.MM.yyyy (with dot . and not with slash / ) but at the same time keep the English language i rules reminders and comments.

When i change regional settings to for German than I have in lists desired outcome (dd.MM.yyyy) format date. BUT at the same time emails i receive from sharepoint notifications about some comment or about change in a column, when I set such rule are also in German. I don't want that! I want these email to remain in English.

How can i do that?

The reason why I need that I need dot rather than slash is that when I paste date dd.MM.yyyy in a column formatted do dd/MM/yyyy (English UK regional setting) nor lists app nor google chrome can understand it. And so I would need to correct each date by hand, and that is not an option for me.

So perhaps there is some workaround to this problem in app or chrome. Than i could keep slashes rather than dots.

Please help

Press the Windows key+R to activate the Run dialog.

Type control intl.cpl then press Enter or click OK.

    Click the Additional Settings... button.

    Activate the Date tab.

Enter dd.MM.yyyy in the Short Date box - you cannot select it from the drop-down list but you can enter it manually.

    Click OK.

    Hi HansV MVP,

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately it is not the solution I'm looking for, because my Short Date already was dd.MM.yyyy when my problem (described above) occurred.

When I read my question again today I thought that it wasn't exactly clear.

First of all I have a a problem with SharePoint Lists aka Microsoft Lists when using Google Chrome browser or Lists app which is basically Chrome extension. Problem does not occur in Mozilla Firefox.

I would like to change date format (to dd.MM.yyyy) displayed in Sharepoint Lists, and still receive email notification, those send by Sharepoint, written in english.

In a meantime Firefox can easily convert date dd.MM.yyyy to dd/MM/yyyy when i paste it in a column in Sharepoint set to English UK in regional settings.

But I would really like to stick to google chrome.

    Is there an acceptable solution?

    Thank you
