Check the Document Template dialog found on the Developer Tab.
If the box is checked to Update Styles from the Template, uncheck it.

We use Styles to format our documents, but these styles seem to change without our doing so.
Example: We use a style called "Bullet 1" for our bulleted lists. This style has an Indentation of 0.75 when applied. When we reopen the document, the Indentation of the bullets changes (e.g., 1.25).
The only styles that seem to have this problem are related to bullets.
These documents are stored in OneDrive, and we share them with others using OneDrive links. This has been an ongoing issue for all members of my team for a couple years. How do we resolve it?
Thanks

Nothing else.
Make sure your collaborators are all working on the document using the Desktop application, and not the browser. There have been numerous reports of problems with bullets and numbering formatting when a document is edited in the browser version.
In that case, verify that the indentation for the bulleted style is correctly defined.
Apply the bullet style to a text paragraph. Click to select the actual bullet symbol. Right-click carefully, so that the selection isn't lost, and then choose Adjust List Indents. Verify that the indentation settings are correct.
Specifically, "Bullet position" is the location of the bullet symbol. "Add tab stop at" determines where the text begins on the first line after the bullet. "Text indent" determines the position of the text on the second and subsequent lines of a bulleted paragraph. All measurements are from the left margin. For a heading indent, you would want "Text and" and "Add tab stop at" to be the same value.
Hi Charles, thanks for your response.
I verified the "Automatically update document styles" box was unchecked under Developer > Document Template > Templates and Add-ins. I also verified the "Automatically update " box was unchecked in the Bullet 1 Style. I checked the Word Options > Advanced > Editing options to see if the box "Prompt to update style was checked" (per the article you sent) and it wasn't so I checked it. Is there anything else I need to check?
Thanks!

Hello Aysia,
Per the description shared, I understand the concern facing at your end but I would like to know whether this problem happens when you re-open the Word document in the Word for the web or Word application.
In addition, if there is any document stored in the local drive, do you encounter the same behavior?
Appreciate your understanding!!
Best Regards,
Chitrahaas
