MS-Word document compare: show format changes only for select formatting changes?

I use MS-Word to compare documents regularly. I am looking for a way to not show format changes when comparing two documents, with a twist. I want to ignore most formats and see only font changes to strikethrough or double strikethrough. Is that an option?

As Igor has demonstrated, the dialog box lets you choose what to compare, but you must always include, at the very least, insertions and deletions. My example below is showing the Combine Documents dialog box, which works the same way in this respect.

For further customization, you can change how the markup displays, by changing the options in the Advanced Track Changes Options dialog box. On the Review tab, click the dialog launcher icon in the Tracking group. Click Advanced Options, which opens a dialog box that provides full control over the display of tracked changes.

    Hello

Thank you for posting to community forum.

According to description you want to set only the certain changes to be displayed in Word Compare.

You may change the settings of what changes to be compared by selecting More in Compare Document dialogue box.

Unfortunately, we can’t choose the certain formatting options so we will have to see all formatting changes.

We understand the inconvenience and apologize for it, to address your concern we suggest you leave feedback, so the developer team pay attention to this and add this feature in future updates. How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office?

    Best Regards,

    Igor
