Access XP ( 2002) transition to Access 2019 (Office 365)

If I am running office XP and developing applications in Access XP can I install Access 2019 (64bit) and Office 365 on the same pc and still develop using both versions of MS Access, or will I have issues and problems with conflicts between the installations of the two versions?

I understand that applications developed in Access 2019 will not open in Access XP but so long as I don't open and update Access XP applications in Access 2019 will I be able to continue development of these Applications with MS Access XP?

That's understandable to a certain degree. On the other hand, the cost of running obsolete software grows over time. This is sometimes referred to as "technical debt" and it's a tough nut to crack. Here's an insightful article on the problem.

You should be able to have both since Office XP uses different technology.

The question is why would you continue to develop in XP? I see absolutely no reason to continue to use any version before 2010.

At the risk of being too sarcastic, you might ask this client if they would buy a 2001 model automobile? Or given the faster pace of software development than automotive, a 1980 automobile?

They really should upgrade. Not a trivial task - there have been at least three major architectural changes - but certainly doable.

    To your question...

I have some existing clients who do not wish to incur the cost of upgrading their software but still want changes to the applications they have running.
