Hey all

So recently I have been using MS Word on my android phone but recently I have been experiencing issues related to the language proofing setting. It is set to Russian but and I can't change it to any other language. To try and fix it I uninstalled and reinstalled it butits still the same issue and I don't know how to solve it. Does anyone know how to solve it?

Thanks in advance

I see your display language is still English, you could change your display language to Russian. Then see if the problem is still there, it can also help us determine if it is a bug. You could try to configure those by going to Settings > Language and Input.

Yes it appears to be a bug as after i switched input language Russian appeared twice as seen in the screenshot

    Hello,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and appreciate your time taken for sharing detailed information. I understand that Office Android App Language Proofing. I could share with you some of my thoughts on this issue.

I'd like to ask what type of phone you have? Usually this is how we change the proofreading language. In Word on your Android phone, tap Edit  Edit button at the top of your screen, and then tap Proofing and Language under Review.

In Word on your Android tablet go to the Review tab and you can select your proofing language from the ribbon.

And you could refer to this link for details: Change the language Office uses in its menus and proofing tools (microsoft.com)

Feel free to post back if you need any further assistance.

    Best Regard,

Thanks for your update, you could also try changing the system language on your phone to the language you want, and then download Word to see if the problem persists.
