I have 5, 1 terabyte onedrive accounts, and the one that backs up my iphone is almost full. Can I add storage to that account, or do I have to create another? In other words, is 1 terabyte the limit for each account?

Please confirm you are asking about 365 Family.

    .

    Consumer OneDrive

Originally, 365 "Home" allowed the owner to "share" with up to 4 other people, total 5

Now 365 "Family" has been upgraded to allow sharing with up to 5 other people, total 6

    .

So in in theory you could share with yourself via one more "dummy" email account.

    .

For 365 Family/Personal you can buy additional onedrive space at US$2 per month per 200GB.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/onedrive/additional-file-storage

    .

Frankly, this "offer" is a massive cash grab by MS. It is like being nibbled to death by ducks. On this offer (it is NOT a "deal") 1TB would be 5x$2 PER MONTH. That is $120 per year. You might as well use another batch of dummy accounts and get another 365 Family subscription for $100 only, giving you another 6TB of OneDrive space!

    .

Your other "better" option is to spend that $100 / $120 PER YEAR on external USB Disk drives. You can get up to 5TB for around that price point, one-time payment. They will last several years. A substantial saving. https://www.amazon.com/External-Hard-Drives-Storage-Add-Ons/b?ie=UTF8&node=595048

    .

    Business OneDrive

If you have a 365 "Business" subscription, then yes the administrator can bump up your storage limit

Upgrade Business OneDrive from 1TB to 5TB to 25TB

    https://whitepages.unlimitedviz.com/2020/03/increase-your-onedrive-of-business-storage-limit-beyond-5-tb/
    .

There is one more increment to 100TB, I just can’t find the article
    .

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/setup/set-up-file-storage-and-sharing
. Manage site storage limits using PowerShell https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/manage-site-collection-storage-limits

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/onedrive/change-user-storage

    .

Set manual limits, not predefined to 1 tb / 5 tb / 25 tb
    .

When lacking space I move files to other accounts that I don't need to sync up to OneDrive very often. Yes 1TB is the limit.

I have a main account that I use frequently and other accounts just hold my archives mostly.

So you can move some files out of that account if you want to continue using it or start another account.

Always keep local backups of everything.

Hello! My name is Joe, and I am an Independent Advisor, as well as a longtime Microsoft user. I hope that I will be able to assist you today!

If you have an Office 365 subscription, then the limit is 1 TB per user (up to 6 users for the family plan) unless you purchase more storage.

Under your OneDrive account settings, you should see "Plans and upgrades" on the left side of the screen under Options. From there, you can add additional storage for a reasonable monthly fee.

Or you could create a shared folder under one of your other 1 TB user accounts, and move some of your backup files there to free up space on your main account.

Please let me know how I can be of further assistance.

    Warm Regards,

    Joe
