Copy and pasting URL/ hyperlinks

Hi All,

When I'm typing a reference for example into Microsoft word to create a bibliography the link itself appears to be coming up differently to the simple URL I want.

I wanted to write the website as the URL so https://www.nmc.org.uk/standards which is fine I have just typed that out. When I copy and paste the URL it is coming up in my documents as this Standards - The Nursing and Midwifery Council (nmc.org.uk). '

Could anyone advice how I can copy / paste the link as the URL https://www.nmc.org.uk/standards and not the above?

I hope this makes sense.

Thank you!

If you are using Microsoft Edge, the default is to create a hyperlinked title rather than paste a URL. You can change this in Edge Settings. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-edge/improved-copy-and-paste-of-urls-in-microsoft-edge-d3bd3956-603a-0033-1fbc-9588a30645b4.
