Draw Tab not appearing in Word 2019 for Windows

The "Draw" tab doesn't seem to appear in my ribbon. It is not greyed out, it straight up isn't there. I have already enabled it in "Word Options". I have also restarted Word as well as my device.

Furthermore, I am also unable to write anything under the "Ink" tab either. Having already selected a pen/highlighter, together with the ink type, I am still unable to register any drawings or writings on the document at all, nothing appears. This goes for both Surface Pen and trackpad.

My windows software is up to date and there isn't any available updates for Microsoft word either. I am using a Surface Pro 7 with the Surface Pen.

My use for this function is to doodle randomly on a Word Document, to draw on top of the existing page. Any and all help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Wei Ren Tan,

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Community. I'm sorry to hear about the issues that you are having with Microsoft Word 2019 on your Surface Pro 7.

Just to confirm: the issue only occurs on Microsoft Word 2019 application, correct? How about on your other Microsoft Office applications like Excel or OneNote, does it work fine or the Draw tab present?

You mentioned that this is when you are trying to draw or write on an existing document, does it also happen when you are creating a new document?

Is your Surface Pro 7 running on Windows 10 or you upgraded it already to Windows 11?

How about using the pen as a mouse to select options in the app, does it work?

Please try these steps first to turn automatic inking on in a desktop app:

    Open Microsoft Word

Click File > Options > Advanced

Under the Pen section, see if the box next to Use pen to select and interact with content by default is unchecked

Uncheck the option if yes then relaunch Microsoft Word

    Kind regards,

    Marrion

    Hi Wei Ren Tan,

Thank you for the response and I'm sorry to hear that the issue persist. This is clearly an issue just with the app itself and not on the device. I will move this post to Office support for a better assistance on this concern.

Thank you for your patience and for spending time in the Community.

    Kind regards,

    Marrion

Thank you for your prompt response.

Unfortunately, the method above did not work.

Yes, the issue occurs on Microsoft Word 2019. It also occurs on all other Microsoft Office Applications, the Draw Tab still does not appear despite being checked in the Customize Ribbon section. I have tried on both existing and new documents, the problem remains. I have updated my Windows, though it still hasn't gotten the Windows 11 update.

I have also brought the device to a Microsoft service centre near me, unfortunately they could not identify the problem either. I will consider making a full refund for the device ASAP.
