Microsoft Whiteboard 22.10318.102 Windows App Version: 52.10315.352.0 Update

Dear Microsoft,

My Microsoft Whiteboard just updated and it was horrible since when you erase it erases the whole line and no longer allows you to actually edit a line and the previous version was so much better. This is the second time this whiteboard updated to a new worse version. The last time it changed back and I was wondering if you can change this version back. Also, The whiteboards seem to have changed to the whiteboards I had LAST YEAR! so can you please change that back too.
Thank you.

I absolutely agree. No upgrade is necessary. It's a fantastic app that I have made essential to my teaching. The upgrade only makes my teaching harder which is so disappointing and problematic!! The main issues i faced were:

    1. the pen lagged so badly that my writing was illegible; even when i wrote really slowly
    2. I couldn't upload my documents onto the whiteboard - this function wasn't working and it wouldn't recognise any word docs - only PDFs and PPts. Even then it wouldn't upload them.
    3. the pen function is not as good a the old version - it's harder to navigate and lagging as mentioned before
    4. the stickers have disappeared which were great

I also don't think that it needs to change its look. Having it work effectively is way more important. I also hope that you revert back to the old version until you have all of the glitches ironed out.

    Thank you

I adopted Whiteboard about 5 weeks ago and it a was a great asset to my teaching.

Since this "update" I cannot insert links, the rainbow pen disappeared, the ability to share "read-only" disappeared, I can't "select" multiple items, and manipulating the board lags among other problems.

I have never seen an update of a program so drastically reduce the functionality of the program.

Is there any hope of getting an update that will improve the product or simply a return to the "good" version that was available two weeks ago?

    Thanks.

    Hi all,

Sorry for the inconvenience that happened to you.

For your concern, I am afraid Microsoft hasn’t provided the release history of Microsoft Whiteboard. As a workaround, please use Whiteboard for the web (https://whiteboard.microsoft.com) to instead. Based on the situation, I would like to suggest you send feedback to Microsoft via tapping the Settings button and choosing Send Feedback. This will open the Microsoft Feedback hub, where you can enter information about the issue you’ve encountered and provide a screenshot.

    Appreciate your understanding and patience.

    Regards,

    George

    Hi YuxinZhu3,

Thanks for posting in the community.

According to your description, my understanding when you use the function Erase to erase the content, it will erase the whole line, not the content you want to erase. If so, I have tested on my side, and I can’t reproduce the same situation. Please try to uninstall and reinstall it from the Microsoft Store, then check again.

If the issue still exists on your side, I would like to collect more information.

    1. Please check if the issue exists on a specific whiteboard or also on other whiteboards.
    2. Please provide a video about the issue.

You can use PowerPoint (Record> Screen recording) or other programs to record the issue, then upload the video to the online drive and share the file link with us.

If my understanding conflicts with the situation or you have any updates, please feel free and come back to share with us.

    Regards,

    George
