Authenticator won't work on my new phone

I used to use authenticator normally on my previous phone for my university account. I changed my phone recently and set up the app, everything seemed fine except for the fact that I didn't receive the approval notifications at all. I tried a lot of fixes including reinstalling the app and setting up backups, but nothing really worked. I thought maybe the system gave priority to my previous phone or something like that and tried to uninstall the app on my previous phone. Now I cannot do anything at all as I cannot log into my account from anywhere because the only way to do it is using authenticator. I saw a "fix" on another post saying that you could set up the new device via microsoft 365 but it just doesn't work as I still need authenticator to log in. I don't really know what to do and it is really urgent. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Greg. Thanks for your help.

I've already performed the backup and recovery on the new device and although my accounts showed up on my new phone, I still do not receive any notifications when requested.

I cannot login to any of the services I use via that account, whenever I try to login I get the authenticator page, if I click "I can't use my authenticator app right now" the only other options I get are via the app itself which makes no sense, in the video you shared they get an e-mail option, but it doesn't show up for me.

I do not have access to the authenticator app which was working on my old phone and therefore I cannot manage my account to try and set it up. Again, I don't understand why the backup didn't work.
