I am not sure that the users Microsoft Account will not have been used for over two years. It will depend on whether the OP used an online account or a local account so that his Office his Microsoft Account is consistently in use whenever he uses Office. I am not sure if is is the same with use of a local account, so that it is used to sign into Windows consistently. However, the OP is going to have to contact Microsoft Support in any event.

    Hi Peter_1_2_3

if a Microsoft Account is not used in any way for a period of 2 years, the account is automatically deleted by the system.

Contacting their support can be hard these days, lease try this method.

Open the Get Help app in Windows, then type 'Speak to an Agent' at the prompt

At the bottom of the app click 'Contact Support'

Set Product and services to Microsoft 365, and set Category to any of the choices available

Click 'Chat with a Support Agent in a Web browser'

That should get you in contact with them

    Hi Peter_1_2_3 27

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

When you first installed and activated Office that licence should have become associated to your Microsoft Account online and it is from there that you can re-install Office without the need for a product key:

    https://account.microsoft.com/services/

The only real option is to log into that web page with any Microsoft Account details you can remember to see if you can find your Office licence there.

Other than that, you can try phoning Microsoft Support in your local area, they are the only ones with account access and may be able to trace that account for you.

    Thank you for quick reply...!!

The problem is , i created the Microsoft account in 2016 and after that never used.

Its really hard to find the details but i have product key.

Please let me know how can i get access to local customer care for support.

Hi Peter, you can only use the Product Key once to install Office Home and Business 2016, that is the first time you setup Office. Thereafter, you can reinstall your Office from the Office Account, which is created by Microsoft when you first install Office. You can sign into your Office Account here: https://account.microsoft.com/services  You need to sign in with the same Microsoft Account that you used to setup your Office for the first time. You will need to contact Microsoft Support to activate your Office as you were unable to uninstall Office from your old computer.
