Installing Microsoft Office Home and Business 2021

I recently downloaded Microsoft Office Home and Business from Costco onto my home desk-top- a recent Lenovo. I downloaded it via E-Delivery. However, I can't seem to get it going. When I sign into Outlook, I get the expired subscription version and warning and then I am directed into re-subscribing. I thought that I had just done this. Won't my new software automatically start working? Note: I have two different Microsoft accounts- one through the university where I teach and another is a home account. It's easy for me to get lost with which account they are f=referring to. I would LOVE to talk to someone at Microsoft Office customer support, but that doesn't exist anymore.

This is getting frustrating and bewildering- please help!

Gratefully,

Dr. John

    Hi Dr. John,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1
Open the Settings App, then go to Apps, then scroll down the list of installed software to find Microsoft Office (not Office)

What version(s) of Microsoft office do you find installed on your PC?

If you find Microsoft Office 2021 and Microsoft 365, you must uninstall Microsoft 365 and then restart your PC

    2
Log into this link with your personal Microsoft Account details:
    https://account.microsoft.com/services/

Do you see your Microsoft Office 2021 licence listed there?

When you get the subscribe warning go to File menu > Account to display the Account information pane.

    .

I expect you will see 2 yellow highlight, one for Office / Microsoft 365 and the other for Office 2021 that you just installed.

Hi, Not sure about the E-Delivery? You need to install Office Home and Business 2021 with Product Key using a Personal Microsoft Account from here: http://www.office.com/setup

Once installed you should be able to see a link to reinstall your Office at: https://account.microsoft.com/services

You should be able to find the Apps, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook by typing in the search box (Windows + S) >Word>Right click on the Word App>Choose>Pin to Start/Pin to TaskBar.

You need to uninstall the free trial version of Office 365 which comes with all new computers.

    Hi Dr. John Patella,

Uninstall all versions of Office except the Microsoft Office Home and Business 2021-en-us version.

Then, restart (not shut down) your PC and check if Office is working correctly.

    Hello Dave,

Thank you for getting back to me so soon! I went into Apps and found the information. There was no Microsoft Office 221 but there was a Microsoft 365-en-us as well as Microsoft Office Home and Business 2021-en-us, both installed yesterday. Farther down the list was Office-Microsoft Corporation (version 18.2110.13110.0) installed on 12/9/21. What to do? I look forward to hearing from you! Thank you!

    Gratefully,

    Dr. John
