Cannot Copy & Paste Slides in PowerPoint

Hi,

When I just start the PowerPoint software, I can copy and paste slides normally. However, after some time, the slides cannot be copied or pasted anymore. Only the last copied content (not slides) are pasted into the current slide.

I tried different ways but none of them works:

  1. right click the slides, and choose copy/paste
  2. CTRL+C / V
  3. the copy and paste buttons on the ribbon are disabled

I am using the updated version of PowerPoint on macOS Big Sur.

Please be specific about the update levels of your macOS & Office software. Due to the screwy way Microsoft is doing things "updated" can have several different meanings. Big Sur should be at 11.6.8 & 16.63.1 is the Current Channel build of Mac Office.

Do you have any sort of clipboard management utility installed? Do you have any other add=ins or utilities installed?

Does the issue resolve if you restart the program?... If you restart the Msc?

How much RAM does your Mac have? How much free disk space is available?

If this is a recent development what has changed on your Mac that may have precipitated the behavior?

    Dear Seven_HZ,

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

According to description the copy/paste slides stops working after some time of work in PowerPoint on Mac.

To narrow down a source of this behavior, we kindly ask you to share some additional information and try the troubleshooting below:

1.May I know what version of PowerPoint you use? Click on PowerPoint menu > About Microsoft PowerPoint take a screenshot and post here.

2.In case you have exceeded the computer resources you may try to shut down the other applications on your Mac and open PowerPoint presentation again.

3.Please clear the Office cache by manually deleting this folder  ~/Library/Containers/Microsoft PowerPoint (close PowerPoint application before deleting)

4.Start your Mac in Safe Mode to determine if some other program is conflicting
