powerpoint on mac - all slides are black with white text, how to change to white with black text?

Powerpoint 16.61 on MacOS 12.4

For some unknown reason, all "new slides" are black background with white text. Clicking on new slide icon in home ribbon also only shows back slides.

Every time we insert a new slide, we have to manually change the background from black to white.

Every text box we add, we have to manually change the text colour to white.

How can we fix this, so that we get back to normal white pages with black text?

We see there is an option to "apply to all" the background colour, but there doesnt seem to be a similar option for text colour.

on my old mac, when I open powerpoint, and create a new blank presentation, the page is shows is white with black text. If I insert a new slide, it is white with black text. This is normal. This how powerpoint has been for at least 10 years on all platforms. If l click on view-> slide master, all slides are white.

However, on my new mac, since today, all new blank presentations always get black slides with white text. If I insert a new slide, it is black background with white text. If I click on view-slide master, all slides are black. Before today it was fine.

I have no idea how powerpoint got "broken" on this mac, as I have never created a slide with a black background.

Any new presentation I create has all back pages. I need to find a way to fix it - go back to the "normal" white slides.

I guess one option might be to delete powerpoint, and reinstall it?

We understand the issue only appears on your new Mac.

And before reinstall PowerPoint, we want to help you do more troubleshooting and we would appreciate if you could share following information with us, they will be very helpful to us to further investigate the issue.

1.Please share screenshots about "all new blank presentations always get black slides with white text.  If I insert a new slide, it is black background with white text. ".

2.Does the same situation appear in other Office apps? (Word, Excel)

Thanks for your patience and understanding!
