Dear Tami,
Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft 365 and Office Community.
Based on the description you are encountering a situation where Access 2016 stops responding when you use Wizard functions.
As Access database crashes could be caused by multiple reasons, we kindly ask you to try the following troubleshooting steps and share some additional information to narrow down the source of this behavior:
- Please check if you encounter the crashes on another PC. If the issue appears only on a certain machine, then it can be the issue of low memory space. So, just check out the memory space of your system before working on it. You may also temporarily disable anti-virus.
- May I know if your database contain OLE Object Fields? If the database contains images or other OLE objects fields then this can often cause issues.
- Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration in the File > Options Generaltab, choose the checkbox forDisable hardware graphics acceleration.
- Check your Trusted Locations. Click the Fileicon, and then click Access Options. Click Trust Center in the left pane, and then click Trust Center Settings. Click Trusted Locations in the left pane, click to clear the Disable all Trusted Locations, only files signed by Trusted Publishers will be trusted check box, and then click OK two times.
Thanks for your cooperation. Look forward your reply.
Sincerely,
Igor | Microsoft Community Moderator
