Since May 7 I am having trouble moving & placing the cursor with my fingers.I am using Microsoft Word and with that when I touch the screen the cursor is positioned in the text mostly 12-13 lines above where my finger is. It is virtually impossible to edit on IPad Pro 11in.. In frustration of trying to solve it I resorted to deleting all Word files deleting the word app completely and then down loading the app again and the problem remains can anyone help please.

I updated Word on iPad yday, but this issue is ongoing. It literally makes the app unusable. If I press on screen, Word cursor lands several lines higher. It seems to affect the end of the doc more than the middle.

Like other users, this problem is only in Word. If I close and open any other app, my presses are recognised accurately.

Due to Microsoft not dealing with this, I had to find a workaround (surprised face)… If I add a ‘dummy paragraph’ at the very end of my document, the iPad cursor behaves correctly every time! I delete the paragraph before publishing.

    Older post:

Like everyone who has posted this, when editing text on an iPad, the cursor can be placed at the end of the document, but that triggers the keyboard to appear, which always quietly moves the cursor to a random place in the document, which is now covered by the keyboard so you cannot see it. Begin typing, let the stream of consciousness flow, then when done typing, you find the entire document now has the newly entered text wildly out of place. This has now happened so often, I no longer am able to do edits on the iPad. Frustrating begins to describe my feelings, but then when Word 365 help tells me to enter Ctrl-E to move the cursor to the end, I nearly threw the iPad at the wall. This is a well known bug, Microsoft, we all know of the sophomoric battle between Microsoft and Apple, this one glitch could torpedo any chances of consumers using the iPad for serious documentation, relegating it to the realm of a pricy Kindle Reader. Since Microsoft is not dealing with this problem, I do not expect a reply, thanks for letting me vent.

Trying to submit feedback to the design team is a minefield as you are aware that it is an issue for quite a few users.PLEASE could you let them know of the issue. Thank you.
