My search bar has disappeared in my dropdown selection. How can I get this back? This has only happened to me when I am working out of an online excel sheet that other users are also using. It was there this morning and now it is gone.

Your evaluation of the issue seems to be correct. I would just like to be able to have the search bar again in the online file.

It seems when you open the file in Excel online the search bar is not there as like show in Excel desktop client app. Based on my test result, it seems I can confirm I also meet same behaviour(reproduce) as like you encounter in Excel online. When I open Excel file in Excel for web (online) and I cannot see Filter search bar there. Even I created a new Excel file from scratch in Excel online but unfortunately got a same result.
In this scenario, to report this behaviour to related Excel development team, I request you, please send/provided feedback to related team via Excel online app (select Help > Feedback) or via Microsoft Excel feedback portal. so that they can get notice about it. It’s the best way to report to related team and we are sure it will speed up this process. Your advice is very important to us.

When i open the file in Excel online the search bar is not there. But if i open it on Excel desktop client it works perfectly fine. This file that i am working on was created about 2 weeks ago and it was working perfect for about 2 weeks with the search bar in excel online. Then suddenly it disappeared.

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.
It seems Excel shared sheet search bar has disappeared in a dropdown selection from your side.
If my understanding is right, for the situation you encountered, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it. And I just tested from my side in a shared Excel workbook I can see Search box when filtering data when I open Excel file in an Excel desktop client app from Excel online and turn OFF Autosave button. Here is my test screenshot for your reference:
But when I open Excel sheet in Excel online and I cannot see search bar in a dropdown selection of filter.
May I know does issue happened do specific Excel document file? If the issue happens to all Excel files including a new created one, the issue is more related to the Office app itself or your computer environment.
Could you please confirm are you open your Excel file in an Excel desktop client app or in Excel online, it will help for us to narrow down your issue.
