Google photos and OneDrive

Hello,

I recently got a new Google phone so the photos are automatically backed up to the Google cloud. I also have OneDrive on my phone, so the photos back up there as well. My google storage is almost full so I need to delete photos from there - is there a way to do this that won't also delete the photos from one drive? I understand when you delete a photo from your device you are also deleting it from OneDrive.

I hope this makes sense, thanks!

    Hi LilliD,

First, my pleasure to assist you.

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

May I confirm are you using “Camera upload” (turn ON) feature in OneDrive on your android device in order to automatically save photos with OneDrive for Android?

If you are using Automatically save photos feature from your Android device to with OneDrive and OneDrive only stores copies of the pictures. According to this article mentioned, “camera roll on your device only uploads to Microsoft OneDrive - it does not sync photos both ways. That means you can delete uploaded photos and videos from your device, and the copies in OneDrive won't be affected”.  This feature only uploads photos to OneDrive, it does not sync photos both ways. That means you can delete uploaded photos and videos from your device, and the copies in OneDrive won't be affected.

I appreciate your understanding and stay safe!!

    Best regards
