How do I ACTUALLY keep source formatting when pasting in OneNote?

Hi I have searched for answers and I cannot find one! I have updated my settings for one note: Default paste option: Keep source formatting... But it does not work!

I am using OneNote for Mac, Office 365, Version 16.64 2022.

I am attempting to copy text from the web and paste into OneNote with source formatting. When I even select paste with source formatting it does not work either.

I am using Safari.

I am also noticing some of my pictures I paste do not come across they paste the same picture over and over instead of the different pictures or it does not copy videos.

I attempt to copy from safari and paste it into word and it keeps the source formatting but not the videos.

    Hello JacquiW55

I'm Diane, an M365 Apps & Services MVP and I’m happy to help you today.

The only way to paste an exact copy of a page is pasting a screenshot. OneNote does not support the CSS and scripts used for web page layouts. It should keep the fonts.

You can get a link to the video and paste it in the note - but only videos from certain sites can be embedded - and Microsoft.com is not one of the sources. https://support.microsoft.com/office/insert-online-videos-in-onenote-for-windows-10-bea22b6e-04dc-4f3d-a04b-bdeb26f3f522
