Recently Outlook has added this table looking thingy title 'new location for outlook modules and apps'. I do not use or want it as it takes up screen space. How can I disable and/or remove it?

Thank you

    Hi @Stan Kasper ,

    Welcome to our forum!

Do you mean the new location for the Mail, Calendar, People, and other modules on the left side as shown in the below image?

If it is it and you want to change it to the classic navigation bar, please uncheck Show Apps in Outlook option via File>Options>Advanced and then restart Outlook:

    Hope to help you!

@ChristyZhang-MSFT Thanks, this helped us get rid of it. I have a few comments though:

    • Next to the setting there is a tiny (i) icon that tells this is only postpones the ‘new experiences’. We do not want to postpone this, we want to disable it forever!
    • Even before this ‘new experience’ we were running short of horizontal space in Outlook on our laptops with 1080 x 1920 displays. We need the preview pane and a compact message list with quite a few columns. The width of the navigation pane is adjustable….. only until you restart Outlook :(.
    • I have no illusion that I keep Microsoft from introducing unnecessary bells and whistles, but the new habit of rolling them out to Office 365 customers set as enabled is extremely annoying. It makes us feel we have no control over our IT infrastructure. Disabling stuff has become a monthly loss of productivity. Until around 2016 it has been a great help to us, but since then it has increasingly become a tool to distract us from our own core business.
