Based on your description, you want to use shortcut for merge cells in Excel for Mac. I tested it on my side, and you can assign a shortcut to Merge cell command by yourself:
- You can open Excel > go to Tools tab > Customize Keyboard... ;
- Select Home Tab in the Categories > search "merge" in the search box, and select the "Merge and Center" command;
- In the Press new keycoard shortcut window, press the shortcut you want to assign to the command(please make sure the shortcut is not assigned to another command)
