OneDrive camera upload doesn't work on iPhone 13 Pro

I'm having issues uploading photos from my iPhone 13 Pro to OneDrive.

I've given access to "all photos" to OneDrive, and starts to syncronized, but it get stucked and some "photos" appears like a grey squares. If I select any of that grey square and go to "Details" I notice that it's a "ts" file.

I've been trying to delete all that files (there are a lot of them) but nothing happens, they don't disappear from the "Photos" section.

I don't know where these "photos" (or files) was found by OneDrive and I don't know why are considerer as "photos".

I don't use iCloud, so I have disabled the iCloud sync. All my original photos are on my iPhone. I used to use Google Photos and it was working perfectly. I don't know why OneDrive gets stuck with that kind of file.

I've tried everything (enable/disbable camera roll sync, give access to all photos, disable upload videos, unsintall and reinstall OneDrive, clean the cache...) everything but nothing works. Even if I unsintall and reinstall OneDrive, automacally are displayed this "ts files" into the photos section.

This makes unusable OneDrive.

Also, I left open OneDrive (on my iPhone) all night long and nothing happened. It uploaded maybe 500 actual photos (when I have 3847) the rest of the "photos" are those grey squares that represents these "ts" files...

I checked the storage on my iPhone and it says that I have 21Gb of photos, I have a 200mbps WiFi, so, I think it's enough to upload everything over the night.

However, I thing the problem is that kind of files detected as photos or videos and I don't know how to solve that issue. No other apps detect that files, only OneDrive, neither Google Photos or Apple Photos nor other app that use photos...

I need help or I'll cancel my susption, OneDrive is not a "free" product, we are paying for something that doesn't work.

    Hi FranciscoBombella,

I'm Sneha and I'd be happy to help you out with your question.

OneDrive is treating your Camera Roll Images as Files because iPhone 13 Pro latest update turns on photos optimization for iCloud by which the file type or consideration is modified/optimized as per iCloud. To have those photos considered as photos in OneDrive you'll need to To disable optimization, To do that tap Settings > iCloud > Photos and uncheck Optimize Storage.

Those too many files are not unknown files, they are your Camera Roll photos and in details they are displayed as File instead of Photos format because they are "Optimized Photos with respect to iCloud and only iCloud can consider files(photos) optimized for it as Photos" Unlike Google Photos, One Drive backed up your Camera Roll optimized photos as files because it scan and upload all type of files from storage paths it's set to upload where as Google Photos reject "files which are not photos or videos" because Google Photos are set to backup only Photos and Videos formats where as Optimized Photos in iPhones specially from Camera Roll are converted as Files after optimization but you can access share or edit those Optimized Photos files within iOS because it's coded in the way that it re-convert or change the Optimized files to the original file format they are required to share but when it comes to back specially auto backup when iPhone do not recognize Auto Backup as Sharing it do not convert the Optimized Photos Files to normal Photos format and OneDrive backup those Optimized Photos file after Scanning as there desired paths are set to take backup from.

    Hi Francisco,

Thank you for posting your query. My name is Clarence, I'll be more than happy to assist you with your concern.

To resolve your query kindly do the steps below.

    1. UPDATE APP
To do that, open the App Store on your iPhone, tap Updates, and then swipe downwards to check for updates. If OneDrive has an update available, tap Update.
    2. CLEAR ONEDRIVE CACHE

Step 1: Start by tapping the profile icon to the upper-left corner of the OneDrive app. Next, tap Settings. On the Settings panel that shows up, scroll down and tap Advanced.

Step 2: Tap Clear Cache to purge the OneDrive cache of temporary files.

Now that you’ve cleared the cache, it’s a good idea to force-quit OneDrive. To do that, bring up the app switcher (swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold briefly), and then swipe the OneDrive app card upwards. Afterward, relaunch the app. Camera Upload should likely function without issues from now onward.

    Thank you,

I have 21Gb in Photos, so I had to buy storage to "see" that option. Well, I bought the storage, and unchecked "Optimize storage". The problem persists.

Actually, my problem is almost the same as this one: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/re-upload-all-photos-from-iphone-to-onedrive/ce8c6ce5-094d-44da-876d-2d7e4652f5fb

I had a lot of photos in OneDrive (and my phone) some months ago. So, I decided to uninstall OneDrive from my phone and choose (into the phone) all the photos that I wanted to keep and deleted the others. Then, I went to OneDrive Web (since it was not installed in my phone) and deleted all my photos (just to avoid "re choosing" everything up again).

I thought, that reinstalling OneDrive in my phone and enabling the photo syncronization, I'd be able to "reupload" all the chosen photos, but no... OneDrive "remember" the photos I deleted, so, it doesn't "reupload" those photos. I notice that new photos (photos that didn't exists when I deleted everything from my OneDrive) are syncronized without any problem.

So, I think it's a OneDrive "cache" problem, because it "remember" that I deleted certain photos and "decides" not upload them again. Instead, it displays a grey square into the Mobile App, (in the web version of OneDrive I don't see those squares).

As you can see, the user from the upon link, has the same problem, so I think it's a OneDrive's issue: "Photos deleted, photos that can't be reuploaded again".

That doesn't have sense to me, no other apps has that behavior, but yes, I notice that new photos are uploaded with no problem.

Actually, if I delete one of that "new photos" from OneDrive web, I can't reupload it from my phone, just like the rest of my photos...

    Hi FranciscoBombella,

Yes, the Optimization for iCloud feature is default turned on irrespective of iCloud Backup. Means even you have iCloud backup disabled but for File System management and optimization in iPhone, the optimization is enabled always to provide great experience to it's users with iPhone and there internal services but when it comes to external service backup like here OneDrive that Optimization need to be turned off.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and be glad to assist you further.

    Hi snehagupta,

But as I said in the original question, I don't use iCloud, i don't have enable iCloud for photos, I have all my original photos in my iPhone, I don't have a back up in iCloud of my photos.

Repeat: All my original photos are on my iPhone, I have disabled the backing up in iCloud, I don't even see the option "Optimize Storage", because that option is only displayed when you have enabled the back up in iCloud, so, repeat: I don't have enable the back up in iCloud, so I can't see that option. All my original photos are into my iPhone.
