Layout Tab - Draw functions missing

Hi there

I am running Word on Office 365. I am trying to edit a table by deleting some lines. I cannot find the Draw/Eraser functions in the Table Design or Layout tabs. They are missing.

They appear fine in other versions of Word I can access, for example, on my work version of Office. I don't know why they have disappeared on my home computer.

I have tried adding them manually by customising the ribbon. Despite following instructions from these forums this has not worked.

I have just installed the latest version of Office 365 and they are still missing.

Can someone please help me get the table draw/eraser features back.

Thanks

Sam.

In Word for Windows, you should see the Eraser in the Draw group on the (Table) Layout tab on the far right. The insertion point must be inside a table.

You can always add the command to the Quick Access Toolbar, if you wish. Click File > Options > Quick Access Toolbar. Set the "Choose commands from" drop down to "All Commands." Locate Eraser [Table Eraser], click to select it and then click the Add button. Confirm with OK.

I'm glad that adding the command to the Quick Access Toolbar has worked for you.

I'm curious about what you see on the ribbon, though. Is the Draw group missing completely? Or is just the Eraser command missing?

    Hello Sjh261,

Thank you for contacting the community: You said you have tried the below before, please go through and confirm if the steps are similar

right-click on the ribbon and choose "customize the ribbon".
In the left box, choose "all tabs" and in the right box choose "all tabs"
then in the right box, scroll down to "TABLE TOOLS" where you will see "table designs" followed by "Table Style Options" etc.
Inserted "new tab" after "Table Style Options" Rename it as you want
On the left column, scroll down to "Draw Table" and added it to the right column.

If the above is dis-similar to what you did before try the above

This may sound like a silly question since you said you are using 365. I had this issue once and the person's office even though was 365 was still looking like 2016.
Kindly Click on File > Account and What is written under Subscription Product confirm that it is 365 not any other.

    Let Us Know.
    Kind Regards
    Fuad

    Hello Sjh261,

I am glad you have found a solution.

This could be cleared in the next office update

    Hi both

Fuad, I tried your solution and followed it exactly, and it did not work. I checked and I am running 365.

Stefan, I understand where Draw and Eraser should be normally, but they are not there. I don't know why. Your solution of adding the Eraser to the Quick Access toolbar has worked, so I can complete my work for now, but I don't want to use the toolbar long term.

I have no idea why basic tools like Draw and Eraser would spontaneously disappear like this. I have never edited the Ribbon before.

    Sam
