I have to use a dictations system because of a chronic illness, and Dragon Dictate was working well until Windows 11 came along....

Word dictate is basically useless in comparison... is there going to be a solution? I understand Microsoft bought Dragon Dictate so why isnt this issue solved?

You list the versions of Dragon that are not supported, which is pretty much everything regular individuals use. Please let us know which versions of Dragon ARE supported.

You're leaving a huge community of people with disabilities hanging out to dry. There may be ADA ramifications which is something that should be looked at. Unfortunately, I am not an attorney.

The solutions you listed are not even remotely adequate for those of us with severe disabilities. Try programming for a living as a quadriplegic without Dragon and let me know how that works out for you Microsoft.

I would like to respectfully ask that you clarify which versions of NaturallySpeaking are currently or, perhaps more importantly, will ever be officially supported on Windows 11 in the future. Thank you for your consideration.

    Hello [bjw],

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Do you have Adobe Acrobat related products installed on your computer? As far as we know, there are real compatibility issues when using Windows 11 with Adobe Acrobat and Dragon.

What version of Dragon Dictate are you using?

The following Nuance products are not officially supported on Windows 11:

    • Dragon 15 Home
    • Dragon Professional Individual
    • Dragon Legal Individual
    • Dragon Professional Group
    • Dragon Legal Group
    • Dragon Law Enforcement

If you are currently using one of the above unsupported versions, you may indeed not be able to continue using Dragon Dictate in Windows 11. We recommend that you give feedback to Dragon Dictate officials and their development team should see that and this issue will be addressed in a subsequent update.

Alternatively, if you want to use dictation in Windows 11, you can try using the dictation feature that comes with Windows 11. Go to Start - Settings - Accessibility - Voice - Voice input (press Windows logo key + H or choose to touch the microphone button on the keyboard) and this will also do what you want.

If you have Microsoft 365, you can use the dictation function that comes with Word.

    1. Open a new or existing document and go to Home > Dictate Office Dictate Button while signed into Microsoft 365 on a mic-enabled device.
    2. Wait for the Dictatebutton to turn on and start listening.
      Dictate Outlook Listening
    3. Start speaking to see text appear on the screen.

I look forward to your response again. If you still have problems, please let me know and I will continue to help you with the problem.

    Sincere greetings
