Image Dragging in Word on the Web (Word online)

Hi,

I am attempting to use Office 365 and OneDrive. In the desktop version there is a feature called position under picture format. This allows you to drag the image anywhere on the page including outside of margins. In OneDrive/Office 365 that is not an option, unless I am missing something. Am I missing something, I am very frustrated by this.

Thanks!

    Hi Kevin,

Thank you for the reply. I don't know if I am just not seeing the exact information I am looking for in that article or missing it. I see the blurb in the object section about pictures, but don't see mention of dragging images to move freely to where I want it. Is that because it is not an option on the web version? I am guessing that is the case. Is there a workaround for that, for those not able to use the desktop version?

    Thanks!

    Tal

Word on the web is less capable than the full version which you can run under Windows or Mac OS.

In Word on the web, you can post feedback for Microsoft via Help > Feedback.

    The article says about pictures:

Insert pictures or clip art stored on your computer or from Bing. You can apply a number of picture styles, write alt-text, change the size, drag to a new location, crop, and rotate. You can’t create screen shots directly in Word for the web, but screen shots in a document display as pictures in Word for the web. [Emphasis added]

Even inline objects can be dragged, of course; this doesn't imply that you can apply a wrapping style other than In Line With Text. About other objects (including shapes), the article says:

These display in the document as expected in Reading view. In Editing view they appear as placeholders that you can delete but not edit. They cannot be moved or resized in Word for the web.

    This does sound discouraging.

I'm afraid there is no work around for this.
