How can I get a 6-digit code on my Microsoft authenticator app?

Still retuning 8 digit codes. This is one of those unbelievable problems that is so critical to users but seems to be zero fixes for it.. Whoever created this app never has to actually use it.

There is not QR code, anywhere.

Why does MS not fix this bug that obviously is causing major trouble for many many users?

If you have the account already on MS Authenticator then remove it! Goto your MS account https://account.microsoft.com/ Scroll down until you find "Security", expand the section and find and click the link "Additional security options". A little way down the page click the link "Add a new way to sign in or verify". Select "Use an app" from the popup dialog. click the link in the body text "set up a different Authenticator app." and you will be presented with a QR code Open the MS Authenticator app on your phone click the "+" to add an account, then click "Other (Google, Facebook, etc) Scan the QR code. Give back to the community. Help the next person who has this issue by indicating of this reply solved your problem. Please click Yes or No below. Unfortunately, we don't have QR codes for any of the accounts we want to use.

Please have the developers make Microsoft Authenticator responsive to user activity. We need to log into our VPN, and it--like many apps--requires a *six* digit code. We have Android.

Tim, any idea how to fix my authenticator from requiring me to check the submenu for the code? Normally its on the main page.
