Instantly Opening an Internet Link

In an open document, when I hold the Ctrl key and click on an Internet link to open it (by automatically sending it to the browser), Microsoft Word sometimes takes a long time to send it to the browser. It seems that Microsoft Word first checks the connection with the link and only afterwards sends it to the browser.

Does anyone know what needs to be changed in the settings so that links may be instantly sent to the browser without first checking the connection?

I have also found a way to send a link instantly to the browser after clicking on it: Pressing the Esc key after clicking on a link causes Microsoft Word to send it to the browser immediately.

Hi, Vlad . Thank you for your question and reaching out. My name is John and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

With regards to your questions, I do not think that is possible. Since when you put a hyperlink to your file, you will really have to copy and paste the link itself.

    Best regards, John

Thank you for the explanation. Is it possible to open links without copying any remote data onto the computer? Do you also know why selecting the option Copy remotely stored files onto your computer makes it possible to open links quickly?
