Is there a way to export PDF to Excel? This is for insurance policy forms. I have tried this before online, but the columns and data were not aligned and the spreadsheet was jumbled. if I can figure out how to do this it would save a lot of time of manual entry. Thank you for any help

doesn't work for me. I am using microsoft 365 and it can only import from pictures. I can only open recent files. What's the deal? I have gone to the "data" button on the ribbon, but it only says import from pictures and will not recognize a pdf file.

    Dear Trey_AU,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in the Microsoft forum.

In Excel, click File>Open, browse to the location where PDF is stored, in the Open window, select All Files from the drop-down (shown in the screenshot below), this will make all the files in the folder visible, select the PDF and click Open.

It will show a warning “The file format and extension of “xxxx.PDF” does not match. The file could be corrupted or unsafe. Unless you trust its source, don’t open it. Do you want to open it anyway”, say Yes to the message. It will then show “Text import Wizard”, follow through the wizard.

Important*: The formatting might not appear aligned as it appears in PDF, also the text in PDF might appear grabbled if it is in a font which is not present in Office apps.*

Further, there are some free converters available online that you can consider using, it will give you better result.

Besides, I would like to invite community members to this post to share their knowledge and insight on this topic.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
