PDF is the native format of Adobe Acrobat, not of Microsoft Word. PDFs are best considered as something you export from or import to Word. Word is not very good as a PDF editor, Acrobat is far superior for this task.

To add pictures to a Word document, use Insert>Pictures from either the macOS menu bar or the Word Ribbon. Then choose any of the macOS Photo Browser, Picture from File, Stock Images or Online Pictures, depending on which source you prefer. You can also drag and drop images onto a Word document.

To add text, click where you want text to appear, then start typing.

You can alter picture by changing their size or adding picture effects. You can alter text by changing the font, it's size or color.

To delete pictures or text, select them, then press the Delete key.

    • To insert an image into a Word document click the Pictures tool on the Insert tab of the Ribbon then select the appropriate source.
    • To alter an image in a Word document select the image then use the tools on the Picture Format contextual tab and/or double-click the image to produce the Format Picture task pane.
    • To delete a picture from a Wor document select it then press the delete key.

All of this as well as more detail is available by using Word Help from the Help menu then search based on the topics of concern. If you have any specific questions don't hesitate to post them here. Provide a complete & accurate description of the issue.
