Switching Microsoft Office Professional 2021 for Windows: Lifetime License from PC to Mac.

Hello,

A few months ago, I purchased a lifetime license of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2021 for use on 1 computer.

Unfortunately the PC I installed it on is on its last legs and I want to switch to a Mac, but I wouldn't like to have to purchase an Office license again, especially when the one I have is not even six months old.

Can I do that? Can I deactivate the license on the PC and activate it on the new Mac computer?

It is worth mentioning I just checked the bill and it reads, "Microsoft Office Professional 2021 for Windows: Lifetime

License," so I tend to think I can't, but hopefully, you will prove me wrong.

Thank you!

    Dear Adriano,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in the Microsoft forum.

Office one-time license can’t be transferred from mac to Windows or vice-versa. Office for Windows and mac are sperate products and we can’t transfer Office between different Operating systems.

There’s, however, a workaround that you may consider, you can install Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp Assistant

Uninstall Office from the old computer, install it from your Microsoft account on the new computer and sign in to activate.

Download and install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 on a PC or Mac

    Thank you, Neha Singh,

I'll keep that workaround in mind.
