I've tried all the tips and tricks I found in the help section as well as google searches, including "go to", "format and unhide"...nothing has worked.

Use Ctrl-A to select all, then right-click a row number (at the far left) and choose UnHide (works if the rows were hidden) or resize the row height on a visible row (works if the rows are just very short) or turn off Data Filters (works if the sheet is filtered).

    Try this:

    1. In the Go To dialog type $1:$5 [or correct Row numbers]
    2. Click OK
    3. Go directly to Format> Row> Unhide in the main menu

Thank you so much for trying to help me. How do I attach a file here? I'm not sure I'm seeing that capability. Also, I wonder if this problem is unique to my computer or version of excel that I have?

Did you select all and adjust row height?

Have you disabled macros ? - there may be code preventing you from showing those rows.

Can you share a copy of the file - remove everything that is visible....

I'm on a mac, but yes, I've tried to select all, then unhide (didn't work). I've tried "go to", A1, adjust row height to 100, it shows row 5 but if I try to click on entire row 5, it hides again. Nothing has worked.
